The Maria L. Varisco-Rogers Charter School is seeking a passionate, engaging, and student-centered Elementary Mathematics Teacher (Grade 4) to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.

The successful candidate will inspire students to build confidence and proficiency in mathematics through engaging, standards-based instruction that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. We are looking for an educator who creates meaningful learning experiences, differentiates instruction to meet the needs of all learners, and fosters a positive classroom culture where every student can succeed.

Essential Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and assess engaging mathematics instruction aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.

• Foster mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking through hands-on learning and real-world applications.

• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and developmental needs of students.

• Utilize formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and monitor student growth.

• Create a positive classroom culture that promotes collaboration, respect, perseverance, and high academic expectations.

• Integrate instructional technology and evidence-based teaching strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement.

• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, assessment data, and classroom records.

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and school activities.

• Collaborate with grade-level teams, intervention staff, and administrators to support student success.

• Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), faculty meetings, professional development, and school improvement initiatives.

• Support school-sponsored activities, family engagement events, field trips, and other community-building opportunities.

• Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Qualifications

Required

• Valid New Jersey Elementary School Teacher Certification (Standard, CEAS, CE, or Limited CE) or eligibility for certification.

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

• Successful completion of the New Jersey Criminal History Background Check.

Preferred

• Experience teaching upper elementary mathematics.

• Strong knowledge of mathematics instructional best practices and data-driven instruction.

• Ability to differentiate instruction to support diverse learners.

• Strong classroom management, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

• Commitment to fostering an engaging, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.

Salary

Starting at $60,170 annually
Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.
