ESL/Bilingual Parent Resources
As a parent, there are many ways that you can help your child succeed every single day! These bilingual parent resources offer tips on helping your child learn to read, succeed in school, and learn a new language. They also provide information about the U.S. school system and share ideas on how to build a relationship with your child’s teacher and school.
Some are resources parents can use at home with children to reinforce language skills. Others include suggested activities ESL/ELL learners can begin in school and share with parents.
When selecting websites for your child you should look for sites which have the tools and resources that present materials in ways that make learning fun and productive. Below you will find some examples:
ESL Learn- a free website for adults to learn English. Here you can practice English speaking, reading, writing, listening, grammar, vocabulary and more.
Colorin Colorado- This site has a lot of information on how to help your child in school as well as how to do well in your community.
